Mae Dae Maine Coons’ focus is on raising strikingly beautiful cats, selectively paired to produce the most incredible companions for your home and farm. Maine Coons are well known for their loyalty and loving nature. They are also well respected for their natural hunting skills and are well suited to farm work. We have the honor of raising these incredible beasts as members of our family, both indoors and as working cats who share the barn with our goats. We can’t wait to share their beauty and amazing abilities with you.
Honestly, we were getting very sad at losing a number of cherished barn cats to whatever unfortunate ends they met. We decided instead of adopting another stray, trying to rehabilitate a street cat, or buying up a local backyard breeder’s leftover kittens, we would raise the hardiest and fiercest cats that we could possibly find. And that is where Mae Dae Maine Coons began.
Not everyone agrees with an outdoor life for cats, and I used to be one of those people, but if you’ve ever had livestock, you understand the important role cats have always played in our raising of other animals. Maine Coons in particular have been the top choice for farmers and homesteaders for centuries.
They are incredibly intuitive and gentle, and because of that, make exceptional companions to both human and fellow animals. We raise our kittens as we would raise any of the babies in our family. With love, and kindness, and proper guidance & training (and so so many snuggles!). Our kittens will fit right in with you in your stalls or next to you on the sofa!
